A little help
getting connected.

Start with your Mac
- Open Portico Mac on the computer you want to access.
- Set a remote-access password if prompted.
- Follow the app's setup instructions for Screen Recording, Accessibility, and Input Monitoring in macOS System Settings.
- Keep Portico Mac running, and make sure the Mac can stay awake and connected to the network when you need it.
- Open Portico on your iPhone or iPad. For iCloud discovery, sign in to the same Apple ID on both devices. Select your computer and authenticate with its host password.
My Mac doesn't appear
Check that Portico Mac is running and that both devices have network access. iCloud discovery uses the same Apple ID on your Mac and iPhone or iPad. Allow a moment for the directory to refresh. A sleeping or offline Mac cannot accept a new session.
The connection works, but the screen or controls don't
On the Mac, review System Settings → Privacy & Security. Screen Recording permits screen capture; Accessibility and Input Monitoring support remote control. Follow any macOS request to quit and reopen the app after changing a permission.
Host password or computer login password?
The host password authorizes a Portico connection. Your Mac login password unlocks the macOS lock screen. They serve different purposes. Only enter credentials for a computer you own or are authorized to access.
Remote lock and unlock
The lock indicator follows state reported by the Mac host. If your Mac is locked, use the available unlock controls and your Mac login credentials. Where enabled, a saved computer login password is kept in the device Keychain and protected by Face ID or Touch ID. A failed password attempt does not unlock the Mac.
Direct and relayed connections
Portico uses the RustDesk protocol to coordinate a connection. Some networks allow a direct connection; others require relaying. Restrictive firewalls or an unavailable host can prevent a session. Check connectivity on both devices and try again.
What do I buy?
Portico's planned U.S. App Store price is US$29.99 as a one-time purchase, with regional prices set by the App Store. There is no subscription or in-app purchase. Availability and supported devices are shown in the App Store listing when released.
